Nick Appleby

Biography

Nick Appleby (he/him) grew up on a farm outside of Atwood, Illinois. He attended Eastern Illinois University for his undergraduate degree in Music with a minor in Business Administration. During his undergraduate time, Nick was an active member of the Panther Marching Band and the Delta Chi fraternity.  

He received his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law where he was an active member of the American Constitution Society, the Cannabis Law Society, and the Chicago-Kent Lambdas. Between his first and second year of law school, Nick interned for the Lake County probate and family law judges. During his second year at Chicago-Kent, Nick worked for the tax law clinic. Nick is licensed to practice law in Illinois. Prior to joining Bielski Chapman Ltd., Nick worked for First Response Family Law as a child custody and divorce attorney. 

Nick specializes in the areas of probate, guardianships, and trust and estate administration. He appears in court daily on a variety of probate and guardianship matters and is a strong advocate for his clients.  Nick is also a passionate advocate for animal, LGBTQ+, and reproductive rights. Nick is a member of the Illinois Bar Associate and the Chicago Bar Association. 

When he is not working, Nick participates in the Chicago Stonewall Kickball and Dodgeball leagues; attends his husband’s instrumental performances; and is an avid video gamer.
