Marny Kravenas
Biography
Marny E. Kravenas (she/her/hers), Of Counsel, joined Bielski Chapman as a part-time associate in June of 2019. She has multiple years of experience handling decedent estate administration matters, guardianship matters, and contested probate matters. She is a 2009 graduate of Chicago-Kent College of Law. Prior to law school, Marny graduated with honors from Tufts University with a bachelor’s degree in international relations and Spanish.
Marny began her career as a plaintiffs’ attorney representing clients in lemon law and warranty cases. Shortly thereafter, she changed her focus to representing plaintiffs in personal injury, workers’ compensation, and nursing home abuse and neglect matters. As her practice shifted toward representing the needs of mostly seniors and their loved ones, she progressed into helping her clients navigate probate issues in conjunction with their nursing home abuse cases.
In 2015, Marny established her former firm’s internal probate practice, focusing on administration of decedents’ estates and guardianship estates for disabled adults and minors. She then joined another Chicago probate practice with an expanded focus on estate planning and estate and trust litigation.
With her diverse background, Marny is able to provide a unique insight into her representation of estates wherein clients have suffered the loss or severe injury of family members due to medical malpractice or nursing home abuse or neglect. She prides herself on ensuring her legal representation is tailored to each of her clients’ needs, while pursuing creative and amicable resolutions that bring peace of mind to the families she assists.
A native to the Chicago area, Marny lives in Glencoe with her husband, two young children, and their dog, Ernie. Marny sits on the board of Family Service of Glencoe.
